hisisquiterelevanttotakingadvantageofanewsourceforwater.”Otherkindsofmaterials,suchassaltsorhydrogels,cannot

operateinextremeweatherconditions,inanenergy-efficientmannerandwithahighcapacityallatonce.ThenewMOF-poweredharve

sterscanbeanexceptionallypowerfultooltoaddresswatershortageissuesrelatedtoanythingfromdrinkingwatertoagriculture.Thist

echnologycanalsobeusedtosecurepurewaterinareaswherewaterisplentifulbutnotclean.It’salsoextremelyefficientatharvestingwater,releasingasdrinking

water85to90percentofthewateritcapturesasatmosphericvapor.Itharvestedupto285gramsofwaterperkilogramofthemetal-organicframeworkinaday,t

heamountofacupofwater.It’salsosmallerthantheearliertypebutitisevenmoreenergy-efficient.Itproduced200gramsofcleanwaterpersquaremeterof

watervapor,morethanthreetimesthewaterproductivityrateoftheearliertype.Therewilllikelybefurtherdevelopmentsinefficiencya
