eGuardian.Thehealtheffectsoftakinginmicroplasticsarecurrentlyunclear.Today,theonlydataavailablearelaboratorystudiesthatsh

owitsunfavorableeffectsonmiceorratswhengivenlargequantitiesofmicroplastics.AsProfessorMarkTaylorofMacqu

arieUniversityinSydneytoldTheGuardianlastyear,“nobodyreallyknows.”However,ashestressed.,“Absenceofevidenceisno

tevidenceofabsence.”Ifwe’retounderstandtheeffects,thefirststepunderwayatthemomentisunderstandinglevelsofexposure.Itisestimatedthatsincethe1950s,mor
