eencarefullyselectedaccordingtotheiragesothatwecouldcomparetheeffectoflanguagelearningonolderandyoungerpeople.Afterthe
four-weekcourse,therewasanoverallimprovementforeveryoneinthecognitivetests.However,whenwelookedatthetwoagegroups,theolde
rparticipantshadimprovedmorethantheyoungerones.Thisisconsistentwithpreviousresearch,whichshowedthatlanguagelearningle
dtoimprovementsregardlessofage,andthatolderpeoplecouldimproveevenmoreoverthesameperiodoftime.Theotherinterestingthingdiscoveredinour
